Welcome to Oakwood Animal Hospital
Located in the Oakwood neighborhood of Kalamazoo, Oakwood Animal Hospital has been providing quality, compassionate veterinary care for nearly 30 years. We offer a full range of medical services for dogs and cats, including preventive health care, disease treatment, dentistry, and surgical services.
We have multiple doctors on staff. Drs. Jonathan Barkow, Dawn Martinez, Blake Wiese, and Andrea Walker see our daily appointments and share dental and surgery duties. While they wear many hats, each doctor has his or her own special areas of interest. Dr. Martinez is partial to involved internal medicine cases that require a lot of detective work. Dr. Wiese loves ophthalmology, and internal medicine. Dr. Barkow enjoys surgery, and performs more involved procedures such as cranial cruciate ligament repairs, patellar luxation corrections, and some limited fracture repairs. Our fully equipped hospital includes surgical monitoring equipment, in-house bloodwork analyzers, full body and dental radiography (x-ray), and ultrasound.
We also have professional relationships with veterinary specialists in case your pet needs a referral for advanced care.
Our goal is to provide high quality veterinary services that are convenient for our clients. Please ask about our Pet Annual Wellness (PAW) Plans that allow you to pay for your pet’s healthcare in low monthly installments. To say thank you for referrals, we also have our Pet Pals program that rewards each referral with a $25 credit.
We look forward to being a partner in your pet’s health. Please browse our website to learn more, schedule an appointment, or contact us with any questions.
